Mochi the cat and Biscuit the dog wander, nap and can be petted; the host runs their behaviour and they never touch items. The host's room autosaves and resumes from the saved seed and item states. The host's Esc menu can start a fresh room. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> |

First-time setup on Windows
In PowerShell:
- Install Git and clone the repo:
winget install --id Git.Git --exact # open a new PowerShell window so git is on PATH, then: git clone https://git.zigz.uk/Nate/Paws_and_Pieces.git cd Paws_and_Pieces - Install Unity Hub, Visual Studio 2022 (with the Unity workload) and Git LFS:
powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File tools\Setup-Windows.ps1 - In Unity Hub, install the newest LTS Unity 6 editor with Windows Build Support (IL2CPP). Then create a Universal 3D project named
PawsPiecesinside this repo folder, and close Unity once it opens. - Move the starter code into the project:
powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File tools\Import-Starter.ps1 - Open the project, then use the menu Paws & Pieces → Build Workshop Scene, and press Play.
The starter code was written without a Unity install, so it hasn't been compiled. Expect to fix a few small errors in the Console the first time.
